July 21, 2006

VILLANOVA -- Villanova Athletics has a new radio home.

Villanova University athletics officials and ISP Sports, the multimedia rightsholder for the Wildcats, have announced a multi-year agreement with The New Sports Talk 950 WPEN to serve as the flagship for the Villanova ISP Sports Radio Network beginning this fall.

The station will carry all Villanova football and men's basketball game broadcasts as well as weekly call-in shows featuring head coaches Andy Talley and Jay Wright during their respective seasons.

"Our new association with SportsTalk 950 is a partnership that will prove invaluable to Villanova Athletics," stated director of athletics Vince Nicastro. "With SportsTalk 950 as our flagship station it allows us to have all of our football and basketball games along with coaches shows on a single station, and resides in a format that provides a great fit for our listeners. In tandem with the audio streaming that makes these broadcasts available on villanova.com, we feel this offers our audience a comprehensive listening package for our fans in the Delaware Valley and nationally."

Bob DeBlois, station manager of WPEN, also expressed pleasure with the new agreement.

"We are very excited to be the broadcast partner of Villanova football and basketball," DeBlois said. "The passion of the Sports Talk 950 listener mirrors that of the Wildcat faithful."

"We are thrilled about our new partnership with Sports Talk 950 WPEN. We feel this association will create an even greater interest for the Villanova football program" said Wildcat head football coach Andy Talley. "WPEN is a first class station with outstanding programming and we are excited to have a partnership with the station."

"We are very enthusiastic about this new agreement that will make it possible for the Nova Nation to hear all our games on Sports Talk 950 beginning in 2006-07," stated Villanova head men's basketball coach Jay Wright. "This new alliance makes Sports Talk 950 the place for Villanova basketball on local radio and offers Philadelphia's sports fans an opportunity to become part of our program. We are happy to have Sports Talk 950 join the Villanova Basketball family."

"Having Sports Talk 950 as the flagship station brings a great benefit to our current and future corporate sponsors and the football and basketball programs deserve to be a No. 1 priority on the air. Additionally, the sports talk format is a great fit for Villanova Athletics and we are excited about the three year commitment we were able to secure," stated ISP Sports General Manager Kirk Nalley.

Those outside the Philadelphia listening area will continue to have access to Villanova football and men's basketball through the audio streaming component of villanova.com.
