The Wildcats record stands at 23-8 on the year
April 27, 1999 Traveling to Harvard University on April 23-25, for the Eastern Water Polo Championships, the Villanova University women's water polo team finished the weekend in fifth place with a 3-2 record. After losing their first two matches of the tournament, the Wildcats came back to win their final three to improve to 23-8 on the season. On Friday, April 23, the Wildcats lost to the University of Maryland by the score of 11-3. Junior Brigitte Bayster, sophomore Carrie Boyle and freshman Kelly Rodriguez each scored one goal for Villanova in the loss. In their second match of the day on Saturday, the Cats lost a heartbreaker to Harvard 8-7. Boyle led Villanova with a team-high three goals, while freshman Janine Kusza had two goals. The Wildcats got their first victory on Saturday afternoon, defeating Brown University 10-8. Freshman driver Erin Agee scored four goals in the victory. Villanova recorded its second straight victory, on Sunday, April 25, by beating Iona College 12-7. Boyle and Bayster scored three goals apiece to spark the Wildcats. The Cats third consecutive win came later it the day on Sunday, as Villanova defeated Slippery Rock 11-6. Agee scored four goals for the second time in three games, while Rodriguez tallied three goals.
