POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - Six Villanova student-athletes were selected to the 2012 MAAC Women's Water Polo All-Academic Team as announced by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference today.

To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.

Freshmen Callan Edwards, Sadie Dutcher and Elaine Resso qualified in terms of grade point average, although were not added to the list due the minimum requirement of two semesters.

Wagner College led all schools with 12 student-athletes making the team, followed by Saint Francis (N.Y.) College with eight student-athletes. Six athletes earned spots of the team representing Marist College. Iona College had five student-athletes on the team, while Siena College added four student-athletes to the squad.
