POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - On the eve of the 2009 MAAC Championship, the conference announced its All-MAAC and All-Academic teams on the Marist College campus. Villanova sophomore Kathleen Maloney (Chicago, Ill.) earned second team all-league accolades and was also one of three Wildcats on the All-Academic squad.

Maloney, a sophomore driver, became one of the team's leading scorers this season and one of the top all-around contributors. She ranked second on the squad in both goals and assists on the offensive end, while leading Villanova in steals and finishing second in blocks on the defensive end. She also rated third in ejections drawn.

In the classroom, Maloney is an Education major with a 3.58 GPA. The other members of the All-Academic team from the Wildcats included junior Annie Stype (Cutchogue, N.Y.) and sophomore Jennifer Lynch (Lower Gwynedd, Pa.). Stype has a 3.73 GPA as a Finance major and Lynch is a Nursing major with a 3.28 GPA.
