VILLANOVA, PA. - On Monday, Apr. 19, it was announced that the Villanova women's water polo team, under the direction of first-year head coach Paige Cull, has received an at-large bid to the 2004 Eastern Championships, being held at Bucknell University Apr. 23-25.

The Wildcats finished fourth at last weekend's Southern Division Championships, held on Villanova's campus. Princeton, George Washington and Bucknell, who all competed in the Southern Division, will also be making the trip to Easterns.

Villanova, 9-16 on the season, will play its first game on Friday, Apr. 23 at 4:40 p.m. against Princeton. The Wildcats are seeded 12th out of 12 teams, while the Tigers are the tournament's fifth seed. Michigan is the top seed.

If Villanova wins its game against Princeton, the Wildcats will take on No. 4 Brown at 12:30 on Saturday. A loss would pit the 'Cats against the loser of the Bucknell/Wagner game at 1:40 on Saturday.
