Julie Ramaley Named Student-Athlete of the Month for March

April 7, 2008

VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Office of Academic Support for Athletics has selected senior Julie Ramaley of the Women's Water Polo team as the Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of March. As a Comprehensive Science major, Ramaley maintains an impressive 3.46 GPA in the classroom and has shown leadership as a captain of the Water Polo team. Through 13 games this season, Ramaley has racked up 9 goals and 8 assists for a total of 17 points. Additionally, she is third on the team with 12 steals.

Coach Damon Newman is equally impressed with Ramaley, stating, "Stressing academic excellence is one of our team goals and we are extremely proud that Julie can represent the water polo team in a positive manner. Julie is a senior Captain, team leader and one of our best all around players. Hurt for the majority of her junior year, she maintained a great attitude and has played well this season. She will make a great doctor one day".
