VILLANOVA, Pa. - The water polo team (7-16, 3-4) is set to take on the Seahawks of Wagner this Saturday at 5:30 p.m. in Loudonville, N.Y.
This contest marks the second showing between the two schools on the 2012 slate. Wagner ranked 20th nationally when they battled in New Rochelle, N.Y. on March 25th.
In the previous matchup, the Seahawks bested Villanova in a 13-4 decision. VU could not recover from a three-goal deficit after the first period with the score 5-2. In the second, Wagner would hold a 6-3 lead, as each team scored once. The Wildcats notched one goal in the entire second half, while the opponent posted seven.
Since the first meeting, Wagner has recorded two victories and dropped one to Iona in close fashion by a count of 9-10. The squad blanked Virginia Military Institute (18-0) and defeated Siena (11-5). Their current overall record stands at 16-15 with a 6-1 transcript in MAAC play.
