VILLANOVA, PA. - On Thursday, March 11, the Collegiate Water Polo Association recognized sophomore Kim Pare (Grand Rapids, Mich./East Grand Rapids) of the women's water polo team with Southern Division athlete of the week honors. Pare was sensational for the Wildcats last week, scoring 20 goals in five games.

Pare, a driver for the 'Cats, did most of her damage during Villanova's spring break trip to California. Against Cal Baptist, Pomona-Pitzer College and UC Santa Barbara, she scored 12 of the Wildcats' 21 goals.

Prior to 'Nova's game on Tuesday against Wagner, Pare had a team-high 26 goals and 12 steals. She was also second with nine assists and 15 ejections drawn. Pare, Villanova's leading goal scorer during her freshman season, has started every game thus far in 2004.
