LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - On Saturday afternoon at the Siena Swim Center, the Wildcats offense produced a season-high 11 goals and the defense turned in its first shutout of the season in an 11-0 romp over St. Francis (N.Y.). Villanova (2-11) was defeated later in the day by Marist 4-2 on the first day of the MAAC Games in Loudonville, N.Y.

The Wildcats had not scored more than eight goals in a game this season, and the 11 scores in the win over St. Francis were the most since Villanova scored 14 in the championship game of the MAAC Tournament last season.

In the second match of the day, against Marist, the team's offense continued its strong play. However, two Marist goalies combined for 18 saves in a 4-2 win.

A full recap of both of this afternoon's matches will be available late Saturday. Villanova is back in action at the Siena Swim Center on Sunday, with matches against Siena and Iona.

NOTES: The Wildcats are giving up an average of just 4.8 goals per game over their last six matches, including just nine goals allowed over the last three contests.
