The Villanova University women's water polo team traveled to Los Angeles, Calif., on March 6 for the Water Polo Tournament at Occidental. The Wildcats left their Spring Trip finale with a three-game sweep over Bakersfield (14-8), Chapman (14-7) and Occidental (10-7), to return home with a seven-game winning streak and a 10-2-0 record.

After taking the tournament's first game 14-8 against Bakersfield, Villanova wasted no time coming back just hours later to beat Chapman 14-7. Seven players scored for the Wildcats, led by junior Renee Scherr's three goals. Scoring for Villanova as well, were Joie Marhefka, Katherine Kaufold and Sharon Fuller who scored two goals each, and Erin Agee, Deana Casale and Brigitte Bayster who each posted one goal. Goalie Carly Sproul picked up the win in goal with two saves, and then came into the game to score two goals.

In Villanova's final game of the tournament against the Tigers of Occidental, freshman Kelly Rodriguez and sophomore Carrie Boyle recorded three goals apiece, while Bayster tallied two goals and a game-high six steals. Sproul saved three shots in net for the win.

The Wildcats return home to resume their schedule on March 13-14, traveling to College Park, Md., for the CWPA Tournament.
