Villanova, PA - On Sunday, March 11, the Villanova water polo team returned from Southern California and the second half of their spring break trip with a 1-3 record. Villanova defeated the University of Florida by the score of 11-9 and were defeated by Occidental 12-7, Redlands 14-6, and Hawaii 17-0.

Leading the Wildcats on the trip were junior driver Erin Agee (Houston, TX/St. Agnes Academy) and senior Carrie Boyle (Redlands, CA/Redlands). The duo combined to score 18 of Villanova's 26 goals in the four games. Agee tallied 11 goals, while Boyle netted seven in her homecoming.

Other players who scored for Villanova included Alisa Demmin (Fullerton, CA/Rosary), Kelly Ganz (Long Beach, CA/Woodrow Wilson), Katherine Kaufold (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley), and Maria Greshock (Harleysville, PA/Souderton). Kelly Ganz netted two goals, while the other three players added one goal each. Demmin, Agee, Ganz, and Jennifer Rosick (Pringle, PA/Wyoming Valley) also contributed by handing out assists. Greshock and Ganz handed out two helpers, while Demmin, Agee and Rosick handed out one.

Defensively for the Wildcats they were lead by Whitney Mabry (Houston, TX/St. Agnes Academy), 11 steals, Boyle, 10 steals, Greshock, four steals, and Demmin, three steals. In goal, Carly Sproul (Moraga, CA/Miramonte) started all four games, recording a 1-3 mark in the four outings. Over that span Sproul tallied 14 saves and 13 steals. Sproul also recorded three assists. Amanda Sewald (Wexford, PA/North Allegheny) saw time in the net as well, tallying one save and one steal in one appearance.

With the 1-3 record the Wildcats now stand at 3-12 on the season. They will be in action next on Friday, March 17 at 7:00 PM in the Villanova Swim Center.
