`Nova Water Polo Topped by Princeton in Tournament Finale

On Saturday night, March 11, the Villanova women's water polo team played host to Princeton University in its final game of the CWPA Mid Atlantic Division Tournament at the Villanova Swim Center. The Wildcats were defeated by the Tigers, 10-3, to fall to 6-6 overall on the season.

Trailing 2-0 in the first period, Villanova trimmed the margin to one on a goal by senior Brigitte Bayster. Princeton took a 3-1 advantage in intermission, after both teams went scoreless in the second period.

The Tigers put the game away in the third, outscoring the Wildcats by a 5-1 margin. Despite one Villanova goal in each of the final two periods, Princeton took home the win 10-3.

Bayster led the Wildcats with two goals in the game, while Erin Agee posted one. Taking the loss in net for Villanova was sophomore Carly Sproul.

The Wildcats will resume play on March 18-19, hosting the Villanova Invitational.
