Wildcats Wind Down Princeton Invite With Fourth Straight Win

In the final game of the Princeton Invitational on Feb. 27, the Villanova women's water polo team defeated Brown University by the score of 11-10. The Wildcats swept through their competition winning four straight at the Princeton Invitational. `Nova now stands at 4-1 overall on the season.

Sophomore Janine Kusza had a team-high three goals on just four shots to lead the Wildcat offensive attack. Four other Villanova players scored two goals apiece including Katherine Kaufold, Joie Marhefka, Brigitte Bayster and Carrie Boyle. Boyle also dished off a game-high four assists, while Bayster had five steals.

Sophomore Carly Sproul was tremendous in goal for Villanova blocking a season-high nine shots. Sproul also had four steals, as she improved to 4-1 on the year.

The Wildcats will now travel to California and will kick off their trip on Feb. 29 against Long Beach at 4:00 p.m.
