Wildcats Defeat Grove City & George Washington
Feb 26, 2000 After defeating Grove City 16-0 earlier in the day on Feb. 26, the Villanova women's water polo team won its second game of the day by defeating George Washington by the score of 12-4. The Wildcats improve to 3-1 on the season with the day's two wins.
Junior Carrie Boyle was outstanding yet again for the Villanova offense. Boyle had five goals, four assists and eight steals to lead the `Cats. Senior Brigitte Bayster, sophomore Janine Kusza and freshman Alisa Demmin also scored multiple goals, as Bayster had three, and Kusza and Demmin each had two. Bayster also dished out three assists in the game. Posting one goal apiece were Sharon Fuller and Katherine Kaufold.
Sophomore Carly Sproul and junior Amanda Sewald split time in net. Sproul got the win, blocking two shots. Sewald came in to relieve Sproul and blocked two shots as well.
The Wildcats will wrap up the Princeton Invitational on Feb. 27, as they play Brown University.
