Seven Villanova water polo student-athletes have been honored for their academic achievements and named to the 2013-14 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Honor Roll, as announced by the conference on Tuesday afternoon.
The fourth-seeded Villanova women's water polo team (10-20, 6-9 MAAC) competed in the MAAC Championship on Saturday and Sunday. The Wildcats fell to top-seeded Wagner, 16-6, in the semifinals and lost to Iona 13-7 in the consolation game.
Sophomore Naomi Ng was named to the All-MAAC First Team while sophomore Sarina Shibata and junior Callan Edwards were named to the All-Conference Second Team, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference announced Friday evening. Additionally, five Wildcats were named to the Women's Water Polo All-Academic Team.
For the third straight season, the Villanova women's water polo team (10-18, 6-7 MAAC) clinched a spot in the MAAC Championships. The Wildcats fell in their last regular season games, 12-4 to Marist and 14-5 to Wagner Sunday afternoon.
