Rob Swingle joins head coach Paige Cull to make up Villanova's new women's water polo coaching staff.
Swingle comes to the Main Line with extensive water polo experience. Considered a goalkeeping/defensive specialist, Swingle served as the head coach of Emory University's water polo team from 1998-2003. Under his guidance, Emory posted a record of 55-45-1, earning a No. 15 national ranking for women's collegiate club programs in 2003.
In addition to his duties at Emory, Swingle has also served as Purdue water polo team president, and has been a U.S. Water Polo referee and a Collegiate Water Polo Association referee.
Swingle's playing experience includes being a goalkeeper for Purdue's men's water polo team, as well as a member of Main Line Water Polo, Apostles Water Polo and Dynamo Water Polo. At Purdue, Swingle earned All-Big Ten Honorable Mention in 1996 and 1997.
Professionally, Swingle has served as an Information Technologies Specialist for IBM Global Services in Atlanta, Ga., for the past five years. |
