Villanova Volleyball Inks All-State Middle Blocker
Nov. 26, 2003 VILLANOVA, PA. - Villanova volleyball head coach Allison Keeley announced the signing of two-time All-State honoree Kacy Sellers, who will join the Wildcats for the 2004 season. Sellers is a middle blocker for Battle Creek Lakeview and led the squad in blocks (163) and digs (504), while finishing second in kills (517) during her junior season. Following her junior season, Sellers earned All-Conference, All-District, All-Region and All-State honors. She was also voted best competitor by her teammates. "Kacy is a great student, who is also a leader and complete player," Keeley said. "She has the physical presence to be a successful player in the Big East. She will help contribute to Villanova's rise to the top of the conference." Sellers also posted a stellar sophomore campaign in which she ranked first on the team in kills (633), blocks (469) and aces (68). She earned All-Conference, All-Region and All-State accolades at the end of the 2002 season. Along with volleyball, Sellers has earned three varsity letters playing basketball and was named to the All-Conference Squad and honored as All-City MVP in 2002 and 2003.
Sellers is a member of the National Honor Society and has been listed on the Alpha honor roll all four years.
