VILLANOVA, Pa. – Senior outside hitter Allie Loitz (Bonita, Calif.) and junior middle blocker Amanda Pedersen-Henry (Murrieta, Calif.) have both received a spot on the BIG EAST All-Conference teams. Loitz received BIG EAST first-team all-conference while Pedersen-Henry received second-team all-conference.
This is Loitz’s third consecutive BIG EAST First Team All-Conference honor after another fantastic year for the Wildcats. She led the team in kills per set (3.35), service aces (30) and points per set (3.96) while also adding 2.43 digs per set and 31 blocks. Her 0.50 service aces per set in conference matches was a league high, while she also ranked seventh in kills per set and fifth in points per set. Villanova was 15-7 in matches that Allie Loitz played in this season.
This is Pedersen-Henry’s first Second Team All-Conference honor after a great junior season. She was one of two Wildcats to play in every set of every match this season. She led the team in hitting percentage (.280), kills (280), blocks (65) and blocks per set (0.62) and also added 21 service aces to her stat line. She was top-15 in the conference in hitting percentage and top-20 in kills per set and points per set. She also added two BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll mentions and one BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week to her awards this season.
