Villanova Volleyball Drops Fourth Straight to Notre Dame
November 8, 1998 Notre Dame, Ind. - In their final road game of the season, the Villanova Volleyball team lost their fourth straight match to Notre Dame in three games 15-13, 15-5, 15-9. Unable to gain any momentum after a tough first game, the Wildcats drop to 11-15 overall and 3-6 in the Big East while Notre Dame improves to 12-11 overall and 8-1 in the Big East. For Villanova, three players knocked down double-digs kills including Breen Eddinger (15), Megan O'Brien (14) and Elizabeth Jones (14). Notre Dame was led by Christi Girton who tallied 14 kills and Lindsay Treadwell added 15 digs in the victory. The Wildcats return to Jake Nevin Field House for their final games of the 1998 season. Villanova will face Rutgers on Friday, Nov. 13 and Seton Hall on Sunday, Nov. 15. Prior to the contest on Sunday, their will be a ceremony honoring the four seniors Kristin Fucci, Felicia Holcomb, Elizabeth Jones and Megan O'Brien for their contributions to the Villanova Volleyball program.
