Semrau Named to Weekly Honor Roll for Second Consecutive Week
Nov. 6, 2006 Villanova, Pa. - The BIG EAST announced the weekly awards on Monday, and for the second straight week, Villanova senior middle blocker Adrian Semrau (Grafton, Ohio) was named to the list. It was the third time this season that she received a weekly award after being named player of the week on September 18. For the week, Semrau coninued her stellar play at the net on defense, recoring 17 blocks, including a career high 11 against Seton Hall on Friday evening on Senior Night. She also had six blocks against Temple on Wednesday, including three solo blocks. On offense, she was equally as effective, registering 24 kills combined in the two matches, with 14 of them coming against Seton Hall. In that match against the Pirates, she did not record an attack error and hit .500 for the game. As a team, this is the seventh time in the last eight weeks that the 'Cats have had a player named to the weekly awards list. The Wildcats will conclude the regular season on the road this weekend, traveling to Storrs, Connecticut to take on the Huskies Saturday and then to Queens, New York to do battle with the first place Saint John's Red Storm. The standings entering this weekend have the Wildcats one game ahead of the Huskies for the eighth, and final spot in the conference tournament.
