VILLANOVA, Pa. - For the third time this season and the second consecutive week, sophomore Lauren Carpenter was named to the Volleyball BIG EAST Honor Roll for the week of Oct. 28, as announced by the conference Monday evening.

"Lauren has been steadily improving since arriving on campus," Villanova head coach Josh Steinbach said. "She is an extremely hard worker and is deserving of any accolades that come her way."

In a loss to a first place Marquette squad, Carpenter continued her surge and finished with a match-high 15.5 points and 15 kills. The Lakewood, Colo. native returned the next game and turned in a spectacular performance.

In a 3-0 dominating sweep over DePaul, Carpenter racked up a match-high 13 kills with an efficient .360 hitting percentage. The outside hitter seems to have hit her stride as she has now recorded double-digit kills in 16 straight matches.

The outside hitter is a key reason the Wildcats are third in the league averaging, 13.85 kills/set. Through 22 matches, Carpenter ranks third in the conference with 321 kills, fourth with 3.78 kills/set and fifth with 341 points on the season.

Villanova (12-10, 4-5 BIG EAST) will return to the courts when it travels to Washington, D.C. Saturday at 7 p.m. to conclude the season series with Georgetown (9-13, 3-6 BIG EAST) before coming back home for three matches the following weekend.
