Villanova Falls in Four
October 22, 1998 Fairfield, Conn. - In their first game in ten days, the Wildcats lost to MAAC conference opponent Fairfield University three game to one. The Stags improve their record to 22-1, extending their current win streak to 14, while Villanova drops to 10-9. Fairfield was led by freshman Joanne Saunders who knocked down 21 kills and Jen McLaughlin collected 19 kills and 14 digs. For Villanova, senior Megan O"Brien led the way with 24 kills and a .435 hitting percentage and Elizabeth Jones has a game- high 17 kills. Sophomore setter Cathy Arnette recorded 61 assists, while Kristin Fucci tallied a career-high 17 digs in the losing effort. The Wildcats return to the Main Line this weekend to face Big East opponents Connecticut on Friday, Oct. 23 and St. John's on Sunday, Oct. 25.
