VILLANOVA, Pa. - After an injury sidelined her in the first match of the season, middle blocker Gabby Pethokoukis returned to the starting lineup against DePaul to make a significant impact that helped garner her to be named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll.

"It's good to have Gabby back on the court," head coach Josh Steinbach said. "She adds another high level scorer for us, which makes us a lot tougher to defend."

The sophomore hit a remarkable .500 pct. in her first match back with nine kills and a solo block in a 3-0 sweep over conference foe DePaul. Pethokoukis capped off the weekend, accumulating 17 kills and a .452 attack pct. as the Wildcats improved to 10-6 on the season.

This is the first BIG EAST honor for the Western Springs, Ill. native. Last season, she was among the conference leaders in total blocks before missing the final nine matches due to illness.
