Villanova, Pa. -- In the first round of the 15th Annual Asics Classic, Villanova dropped St. Peter's College in three games 15-8, 15-9, 15-4. Arriving one hour late for the game, the Peahens were lagging throughout. The Wildcats pounced on St. Peter's with a 8-2 lead in the first game. Behind senior Elizabeth Jones' 14 kills and 17 digs, Villanova (4-7) went on to their second straight win.

Helping the Wildcats cause was Megan O'Brien who tallied 14 kills, while fellow senior Kristin Fucci had ten digs. For St. Peter's (7-2), Valentine Zaharieva recorded 11 kills and 11 digs in the losing effort.

Villanova faces Rice later this evening and rounds out tournament play tomorrow at 2:30 pm versus Wagner College.
