Villanova, Pa. - After capturing the Subway Classic hosted by Bucknell University this past weekend, September 22-23, the Villanova volleyball team earned two all-tournament selections. Senior middle blocker Breen Eddinger (Tacoma, Wash./Bellarmine Prep) and freshman setter Jennifer Edwards (Valencia, Calif./Valencia) were awarded the honors after their stellar play led Villanova to a 3-0 record in the tournament.

Eddinger led the Wildcats with 2.56 kills and 3.00 digs per game. Eddinger also tallied nine block assists, moving her to fourth all-time on the Villanova career block-assist list. Her current total of 207 surpassed 1994 'Nova graduate Amy Burke's total of 205. Becky Kulbago, a 1993 graduate, is currently third with 263.

Edwards continued to add to her outstanding freshman numbers in the tournament, recording 78 assists in nine games. The rookie standout also added 20 digs, seven block assists, three kills, and two service aces. With her tournament totals, Edwards now has accumulated 389 assists (8.64 per game), 68 digs, 19 block assists, 18 kills, and seven service aces.

Villanova improved to 6-9 overall after the tournament championship. The Wildcats will now begin conference action. Their first Big East match will come against conference pre-season number one, Notre Dame, on September 29th at 7 PM in Notre Dame, Indiana.
