Maroon Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll

Senior picks up her second weekly accolade

VILLANOVA, Pa. - Senior libero Kim Maroon has been named to the BIG EAST weekly honor roll, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon.

Maroon helped the Wildcats to a 3-1 week with victories over Delaware (3-1), Colgate (3-0) and Loyola (3-0). The lone loss came to TCU in a 3-1 decision.

In three matches Maroon averaged 8.45 digs per set to lead the BIG EAST for the week. She recorded a season-best 36 digs against Delaware, which is also a conference best for the current season. Maroon collected 27 digs in just three sets against Colgate and followed with her third 30+ dig match of the season against TCU with 30.

Villanova has had a player earn a weekly honor in every week this season with Maroon earning the honor roll nod on Aug. 29.

The Wildcats will play in the American Invitational this weekend facing host American on Friday, Sept. 16 at 7:00 p.m. On Saturday they will play Missouri at 1:30 p.m. and Western Kentucky at 4:30 p.m.
