VILLANOVA, Pa. --- Villanova University women's volleyball coach Allison Keeley recently announced the signing of two student-athletes to national letters of intent for the 2002 year. Megan Abbott and Dana Kabashima will join the Wildcats in the fall and add to the Villanova class of 2006.

A 6'4 middle blocker, Abbott led her Bartram Trail High School team to the regional championship during her senior season. A native of Jacksonville, Fla., she was a two-time team captain and most valuable player while being named to several All-Tournament teams in 2001. Abbott also led her Jacksonville junior club team to a 52-3 record over the last three seasons.

Kabashima, a 5'10 outside hitter, hails from Santa Monica, Calif. where she was a four-year varsity letter-winner at Santa Monica High School. Last season, she was named a first team Bay League selection and most valuable player while serving as co-captain. Kabashima played her club ball for the ABVC squad.

The duo join a freshmen class that already includes Celine Nguyen of Palos Verdes Peninsula High School (Calif.).
