VILLANOVA, Pa. -
-What do you do in the off season to prepare for next fall?
In the off season, my team and I do a lot of conditioning, weight training, and agility work. We also practice and focus a lot of attention on each of our individual positions. We develop and work on the things that we may not have had time for during season.
-Is it weird to not be competing in the offseason? Do you miss it?
I definitely miss not competing in the off season. Playing games is one of the best and most fun parts about playing sports because you get to see how all of your hard work and training pays off.
-Are you excited to be a senior next year?
I think it's bittersweet that I will be a senior next year. I like the idea of being one of the leaders on the team however I don't like to think that this will be my last season to participate as a college athlete with my team.
-What is your favorite thing about Villanova?
My favorite thing about Villanova is the people. There is such a strong sense of school spirit and community that I couldn't imagine being anywhere else.
-What is your favorite memory as part of the volleyball team?
My favorite memory would have to be last year's season (2007) because my team was picked to finish tenth in the Big East preseason rankings and we ended up finishing third. That was a huge accomplishment that my team and I are very proud of!
-Have you ever played in other sports?
In high school, I played basketball, lacrosse, and soccer. I also used to swim and play softball when I was younger. I love playing any sport!
-What is your major and what do you hope to do after college?
My major is Psychology with a concentration in Elementary Education. After college I hope to teach in a second or first grade classroom.
-What made you choose Villanova?
I chose Villanova because of the strong academics and also because of the volleyball program. When I first came to visit everyone was very friendly and willing to help. I fell in love with the community and people. The location is also perfect because it is close enough to home so my family can come down and visit and see my games.
-If you could have dinner with any three people who would you choose and why?
If I could have dinner with any three people it would be Will Smith, Donovan McNabb, and LeBron James. I would like to have dinner with Will Smith because I have loved him ever since Fresh Prince of Bel- Air and I think he would be a great dinner date. I think Donovan McNabb would be sweet to have dinner with because I love the Eagles and think he is a great guy. And lastly, I would like to have dinner with LeBron James because I would love to ask him how it feels to be almost my age and be as successful as he has become.
-What do you do when you are not at class or playing volleyball?
When I am not at class or playing volleyball I am usually doing homework or just hanging out with my friends.
-Do you have a favorite place to go on Villanova's campus?
My favorite place to go on Villanova's campus would have to be Jake Nevin. That is where I practice and play all of my home volleyball games so I spend a lot of my time there. It has a lot of history and character that I am proud to be a part of.
-What is your favorite sport other than volleyball?
My favorite sport other than volleyball is basketball. I have played basketball since I was a little girl and it will always be one of my favorite sports to both play and watch.
