Villanova Defeats Drexel, 3-0

Villanova, Penn.-- The Villanova volleyball team kept up its winning ways with their second consecutive victory, by beating Drexel 3-0 (15-2, 15-5, 15-10) on Tuesday, Sept. 16, at Jake Nevin Field House on the campus of Villanova University.

The Wildcats made their mark early jumping out to a big lead in the first game, and they did not look back, defeating Drexel (1-6) in three games, to send the Dragons home with their sixth loss.

Villanova was led by senior co-captains Stacy Evans and Marisa Davidson, who chipped in eight kills apiece. Sophomore setter Stacey Moline, who finished No. 26 in the nation in assists last season, contributed 34 assists in helping lead the Wildcats to their sixth victory.

The Wildcats travel to Virginia next, for the University of Virginia Tournament on September 19-20. Villanova plays Virginia on Friday, Sept. 19 and Iowa State and Northeastern on Saturday, Sept. 20.
