Evans Leads Villanova To Undefeated Weekend
Villanova took their show on the road traveling to St. John's and Connecticut this weekend and came home still undefeated in Big East Conference play, defeating the Red Storm 3-1 (12-15,15-10, 15-12, 15-11) on Friday, Oct. 10, and the Huskies 3-0 (15-7, 15-13, 15-4) on Sunday, Oct.12. With the victories, the Wildcats improved their record to 14-5 overall and 4-0 in the Big East.
On Friday against St. John's, Villanova dropped the first game 15-12 to the Red Storm. Behind senior Stacy Evans' (Los Altos, CA/ St. Francis H.S) 31 kills and 20 digs, the Wildcats came back to defeat St. John's in the next three game to take the match 3-1. Fellow senior Marisa Davidson (Mt. Airy, MD./ Glenelg) contributed 13 kills and nine digs in the victory, with junior Elizabeth Jones (Los Altos, CA./ St. Francis H.S.) tallying nine kills and 31 digs.
