On Sunday, Nov. 4, the Villanova Wildcats traveled to South Orange, N.J. where they were defeated by the Seton Hall Pirates in four games. After both teams split the first two sets, Seton Hall stepped up to win games three and four to close out the match. Scores for the match were 19-30, 30-26, 24-30 and 22-30.

With the loss, the 'Cats drop their overall season record to 6-16 and 1-9 in the Big East. The Pirates improve to 12-11 overall and 5-3 in conference action.

Freshman blocker Kerri Sullivan (Downers Grove, Ill./ South) led Villanova on the afternoon with 17 kills for a .378 hitting percentage. Junior Leah Mathews added 17 digs for the Wildcats.

Seton Hall was led by freshman Shawn McDonald who had a match-high and season-high 59 assists in addition to 11 defensive digs.

The Wildcats will return to action next weekend, Nov. 10 and 11, when they play host to West Virginia and Pittsburgh, respectively. Both matches are slated to begin at 1:00 P.M.
