Villanova Drops 3-0 Decision at South Florida

Tampa, FL - The Wildcats paid a visit to the University of South Florida Bulls on Friday night, and it was the Bulls coming away with the 3-0 victory. The loss drops Villanova's record to 11-12 overall and 4-4 in BIG EAST play. The Wildcats still have not won a conference road match this season, going 0-3 so far. The game scores were 18-30, 24-30 and 22-30. Junior Kacy Sellers (Battle Creek, Mich.) led the Villanova offense with 12 kills, while sophomore Alona Cherkez (Crimea, Ukraine) was the only other Wildcat in double figure kills with 10. Cherkez and Jenna Link (Wheaton, Ill.) were the defensive leaders for Villanova, each coming away with 10 digs. For Link, it was her first assist-dig (26-10) double-double of the season. As a team, Villanova hit just .120 compared to the Bulls .363. Villanova also lost the battle at the net, reocrding three blocks to USF's nine. Villanova will stay on the road, as they travel to Georgetown for a Sunday afternoon affair with the Hoyas.
