PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Villanova University volleyball team (13-9) fell tonight (Oct. 17) by a score of 3-0 to host Temple University (8-16). Senior Alona Cherkez had an outstanding match notching 23 kills and 10 digs while hitting at a .320 clip.

The Wildcats fell in game one 30-16, game two 30-22 and game three 32-30. The Wildcats were able to push the third game to extra points but struggled all night figuring out an offensive rhythm.

The Owls did not help the matter as they registered 11 team blocks in only three games.

Senior Kacy Sellers was second in kills with nine while sophomore Chelsea Graman recorded 30 assists.

Cherkez led the team in both kills and digs while also chipping in an ace and a solo block.

Temple was led by Yeu Lie who had 16 kills.

Villanova will next be in action Saturday, October 17 at 2 p.m. as the host Seton Hall University.
