Villanova, PA - On Saturday afternoon, the Villanova Wildcats (11-11, 4-3) played host to the Rutgers Scarlet Knights (5-12, 2-5) at Jake Nevin Field House and came away with their second three game sweep in BIG EAST play.

As they have in so many matches this season, Villanova started the match hitting at a tremendous clip and setting the tone early and jumping out to a 10-4 lead early. Rutgers was never able to get back in the game and the Wildcats won, 30-21.

The second game was more evenly matched, with the score being tied 10-10 and Villanova hold a slim 18-16 lead later in the game. But the Wildcats were not to be denied in this game, and were able to go on a 12-5 run to close out the game, 30-21.

In game three, Villanova reverted back to their form in the first game and took the early 10-2 lead. From there, the Wildcats never looked back and went on to easily win game three (30-16) and closed out the match for the three game sweep.
