Final Stats

Villanova, PA - The Wildcats took to the road for their first BIG EAST Conference road match of the year on Saturday, and came up short against the Cincinnati Bearcats, 3-0. The loss drops Villanova to 9-10 on the year and 3-2 in conference play, while Cincinnati improves to 12-4 overall and 3-2 in BIG EAST Play.

Cincinnati got off to a tremendous start, outhitting Villanova in game one, .386 to .167 en route to a 30-21 win. The Bearcats won game two in by a similar score, 30-20 and game three, 30-25. As a team, Villanova hit just .157 compared to .310 for UC.

For the seventh consecutive match, sophomore Alona Cherkez led the Wildcats' offense, recording 15 kills and eight digs against the Bearcats. Cherkez was the only Wildcat to record at least 10 kills, with Adrian Semrau posting seven and Dana Tartasky registering six.

Freshman Chelsea Graman logged 24 assists while running the Wildcat offense, while another freshman, Amy Gulyas led Villanova with eight digs. Junior Kacy Sellers was also strong at the net for the `Cats, blocking five shots.

The Wildcats will travel to Louisville on Sunday to take on the Cardinals starting at 2 PM.
