CHICAGO, Ill. - The Villanova University volleyball team (10-6, 2-1 BIG EAST) picked up its second BIG EAST victory of the season today (Sept. 29) over host DePaul University (4-12, 0-3 BIG EAST) by a score of 3-0 (30-23, 30-26, 30-22). Junior Dana Tartazky led the way recording a double-double with 10 kills and a team-leading 14 digs.

"Dana (Tartazky) and Amy (Gulyas) played really well defensively for us today," said head coach Josh Steinbach. "The team played well and I am happy to pick up this victory over DePaul."

Offensivily the Wildcats were paced by senior Alona Cherkez who had a game-high 18 kills with only five errors. Classmate Kacy Sellers chipped in with 11 kills and had only one error on the day.

As a team the Wildcats recorded nine blocks with junior Whitney Harrington leading the way with five while Sellers, Cherkez and sophomore Elysse Studzinski each had three.

Tartazky and Amy Gulyas each had 14 digs to lead the team. Sophomore setter Chelsea Graman kept up her outstanding play picking up 43 assists.

The Wildcats will next be in action tomorrow September 30 as they take on the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame at 2 p.m.
