VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Villanova University volleyball team (9-6) came up short against the University of Pennsylvania (6-5) tonight (Sept. 26), 3-0 (28-30, 20-30, 23-30). The Villanova team as a whole struggled tonight with few bright spots to shine through.

Seniors Alona Cherkez and Kacy Sellers each had 10 kills a piece while Cherkez added three blocks. Sophomore Amy Gulyas led the team in digs with 12 as well as service aces in which she had three.

VU as a team hit .035 which ranks the lowest of the year to this point.

Sophomore Chelsea Graman picked up 28 assists on the night but VU just couldn't find a rhythm offensively as they fell to the Quakers in three quick games.

Villanova will look to get back on track this weekend as they travel to DePaul University and the University of Notre Dame on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Both contests are BIG EAST conference match-ups. VU will try and beat the Irish fo the first time in 17 tries.
