MADISON, Wisc.-Villanova (10-2) played Valparaiso (9-2) close but lost in four games to the Crusaders in its second match at the InnTowner Invitational in Madison, Wisc.

The game scores were 30-27, 24-30, 26-30, and 25-30.

Junior Adrian Semrau (Grafton, Ohio) led all players with 17 kills. She also recorded three blocks. Senior Celine Nguyen (Palos Verdes Peninsula, Calif.) joined Semrau in double digit kills with 15. Nguyen picked up a double double, as she also tallied 18 digs. Freshman Alona Cherkez (Raanana, Israel) followed with nine kills and 11 digs, while sophomore Kelly Ludwig (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) added six blocks for the 'Cats.

Valpo had four players register double figure kills.

Villanova completes its double header with a match against #11 UCLA tonight at 6:00 p.m. EST.
