Final Stats

Villanova, PA - The Villanova Wildcat volleyball team continued their rough start to the 2006 campaign, dropping in 3-0 decision to the Kentucky Wildcats as part of the Kentucky Classic.

Kentucky was in control the entire match, winning each game comfortably, 30-21, 30-21 and 30-15. With the loss, Villanova falls to 1-7 on the young season, while Kentucky improves to 5-1.

For Villanova, there was not much offense, with none of the Wildcats reaching double-digits in kills or digs. Dana Tartasky and Alona Cherkez each had six kills to pace Villanova in that department. Tartasky also had nine digs, while Emily Brown added eight.

Villanova recorded 27 kills in the match and also compiled 23 attack errors to stifle their own offense.

The Wildcats will close out the Kentucky Classic on Saturday evening, when they take on the University of Toledo Rockets at 6:30 PM.
