Volleyball falls to Georgia Tech

Villanova, PA - In their first game of the weekend at the Kentucky Classic, the Villanova Wildcat (1-6) volleyball team was defeated by Georgia Tech, 3-1. The Yellow Jackets (4-1) won a close first game, 31-29, and then took the second game as well, 30-23. Villanova was in command of the third game, cruising to a 30-16 win. But that was the only positive for the Wildcats, as they would go on to lose the fourth game, 30-26. In the game for Villanova, Alona Cherkez logged her fourth kill-dig double-double of the season with 19 kills and 12 digs. Kacy Sellers also played well for the Wildcats, recording 17 kills and a hitting percentage of .577 to go along with five digs. Adrian Semrau broke into the double-digit kill column with 11 kills. In the assist category, Chelsea Graman and Jenna Link were the leaders for Villanova with 27 and 18, respectively. Villanova will be back in action later this evening when they take on the host, Kentucky Wildcats at 7 PM.
