WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Villanova volleyball team notched its first two wins of the 2003 season with identical 3-0 sweeps of Coppin State (30-25, 30-16, 30-16) and Lafayette (30-12, 30-18, 30-21) in action at the George Washington Invitational on Saturday.

The Wildcats' Celine Nguyen and Adrian Semrau were each named to the All-Tournament team. This marks the second consecutive tournament that Semrau has earned All-Tournament honors.

Jessica Hoover fueled the 'Cats attack against Coppin State with 11 kills and Dana Kabashima registered nine kills and 14 digs. Jennifer Edwards set up 27 assists and Jen Lalli managed 18 assists. Villanova finished the match with a .489 hitting percentage - its best so far this season.

A trio of Wildcats led the way against Lafayette, as Kerri Sullivan, Katie Lanting and Kabashima each smacked 11 kills. Kabashima added 17 digs, while Sullivan and Lanting provided strong blocking up front.

Villanova (2-4) returns to the court on Tuesday with a 7 p.m. match at Temple.
