Kate Woffindin enters her third season as an assistant coach at Villanova after helping lead the Wildcats to their third conference tournament appearance in five years and the third straight season with a winning record.
Woffindin will assist the team in all areas of the game, including recruiting and on-court coaching.
In 2006, Woffindin worked extensively with the Wildcat hitters and helped the team post a winning record for the second straight year. Villanova went 16-15 in 2006 and improved its attack percentage and blocking totals from the previous season.
Prior to beginning her coaching career, Woffindin was a standout outside hitter at William & Mary. She earned second team All-Colonial Athletic Association recognition as a senior and was named to the CAA All-Tournament team that year as well. The Tribe posted a 22-9 record in 2005, including a 15-3 mark in conference matches.
Woffindin led her team with 3.17 kills per game during her senior year and also posted a team-high 36 service aces. She averaged 2.21 digs per game and 0.85 blocks per game while playing in all 118 team games in every match.
A 2006 graduate of William & Mary with degrees in Psychology and Kinesiology, Woffindin is currently pursuing her Master's degree in School Counseling.
