The Villanova Wildcats (9-4) swept Penn and defeated La Salle in four sets on Saturday in their last two matches of the Big 5 Challenge at Tom Gola Arena.
Villanova Falls to Temple in Three Sets
The Villanova volleyball team came up short in its first match at the Big 5 Challenge, falling to Temple 25-18, 27-25, 26-24 at The Palestra on Friday. After struggling in the first set, the Wildcats (7-4) nearly took the highly competitive second and third set but the Owl's (5-3) timely kills ended Villanova’s chance at a comeback.

With a 25-18, 25-23, 25-14 sweep of Fairfield earlier today, the Villanova Wildcats (6-3) won the Fairfield Invitational after going a perfect 3-0 in the two day tournament. Villanova did not drop a set all weekend, taking victories over James Madison and Sacred Heart before defeating the Stags on Saturday.
