Wildcats Set to Celebrate Senior Night on the Mainline
Villanova Volleyball (12-17, 5-9 BIG EAST) is set to celebrate numerous milestones this weekend as they host DePaul and Marquette for their last home series of the 2014 season. After suffering a hard loss against Seton Hall last weekend, the Wildcats will look to celebrate their seniors and Lauren Carpenter finally achieving her 1000th kill as a Wildcat.
Steinbach Adds Pedersen-Henry to 2015-16 Roster
Head Coach Josh Steinbach of the Villanova volleyball team signed one new member to the Wildcat family for the 2015-16 season. Middle blocker Amanda Pedersen-Henry of Vista Murrieta High School in California officially signed her letter of intent this morning.
A Class All Their Own
This 2014 season has been a highly competitive one for the field of ten schools in the BIG EAST. Creighton began the season ranked 23rd in the country, and, along with fellow Midwest rival Marquette, has spent the rest of the season receiving votes. While the Wildcats may not see time in the BIG EAST Championship, Head Coach Josh Steinbach can rest assured that he has invested well in two freshman powerhouses for seasons to come.
Villanova Volleyball Falls to Seton Hall in Three
Villanova volleyball dropped a three set match to the Seton Hall Pirates (23-6, 11-3 BIG EAST) in South Orange, N.J. Saturday evening with scores of 26-16, 25-8 and 25-15. The Wildcats (12-17, 5-9 BIG EAST) will look forward to their last two home matches of the season next weekend against DePaul and Marquette to finish out 2014 on a high note.
Wildcats Look to Saturday Night Match Against Seton Hall
Villanova volleyball (12-16, 5-8 Conference) will travel to South Orange, N.J. to take on Seton Hall (22-6, 10-3 BIG EAST) for a Saturday night matchup against the Pirates. The travel partners will finally showdown on the BIG EAST Digital Network at 7 p.m.
Wildcats Drop Match against St. John's
The Villanova team was unable to reach .500 after a three-set loss to the St. John's Red Storm with scores of 25-23, 25-15 and 25-21. The Wildcats (12-16, 5-8 BIG EAST) will enjoy a short break until the play they travel to South Orange, N.Y. to take on the Seton Hall Pirates at 7 p.m.
Carpenter's Accurate Hitting Puts Wildcats over the Friars
The Villanova volleyball team improved to 12-15, 5-7 BIG EAST after a three set win agains Providence (4-21, 0-11 BIG EAST) on a Halloween Friday night. The Wildcats overtook the Friars in three sets with scores of 25-15, 25-23 and 25-13. Villanova will be back in action tomorrow night to take on the St. John's Red Storm (16-10, 5-6 BIG EAST) at the Taffner Field House on Saturday Nov. 1 at 7 p.m., and the match will be available via radio broadcast on RedStormSports.com.
Villanova Travels North to Take on Providence & St. John's
Villanova Volleyball (11-15, 4-7 BIG EAST) will travel North this weekend to battle the Providence Friars (4-20, 0-10 BIGEAST) and the St. John's Red Storm (16-9, 5-5 BIG EAST). The Wildcats will be fighting for back-to-back wins after dropping both matches in three sets this past weekend at home
