Koons Finishes Eighth in her Heat at U.S. Olympic Trials

VILLANOVA, Pa. - Frances Koons saw her run at making the U.S. Olympic team end as she finished eighth in her heat at the U.S. Olympic Trials held in Eugene, Ore. Koons ran the 1,500m in 4:17.41 in a race where the top six in each heat advance to the finals.

Koons ran the quarterfinal race in 4:17.86 on Thursday, July 3 to advance to the semi-finals, as she finished third in her heat.

Shannon Rowbury, running for Nike was the top finisher, crossing the finish line in 4:11.75. .
