Villanova Set to Compete at ECAC Championships in Princeton

VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Villanova women's track and field squad is set to compete at the 2010 ECAC Championships May 14-16 at the William Weaver Track and Field Stadium on the campus of Princeton University.
This is the final weekend to improve on east region standings in preparation for the 2010 NCAA Regional Championships at the end of the month.
Julia Arduini will compete in the javelin throw and look to improve on her ranking of 46th. The javelin trials and finals are scheduled for 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Ashlyn Llerandi is entered in the pole vault where she had produced a career-best season. She holds a region ranking if 15 and will be competing on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
In the high jump, Audrey Gariepy-Bogui will attempt to improve on her east region mark where she is currently 30th. The high jump is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
Currently ranked 59th in the region in the 400m hurdles, Kristen Mahon will seek to improve. The trials are slated for 1:20 p.m. on Saturday.
Three Wildcats are entered in the 1,500m run where the trials will take place 10:50 a.m. on Saturday. Amanda Marino and Ali Smith will look to enter the top-60 in the event and Brooke Simpson will attempt to improve on her mark, which ranks 52nd.
Kaitlyn Tallman is ranked 55th in the east in the 5,000m run. On Saturday she will compete in order to approve upon that time.
In sprints, Christie Verdier is entered in the 400m dash where the trials are slated for Saturday at noon. She will be looking to break into the top-60 in the east.
Continuing a stellar season in the 100m hurdles, Shericka Ward will once again compete in the event. Her best mark of 13.26 seconds from the Penn Relays ranks eighth overall in the east region. The trials are slated for 11:15 a.m. on Saturday.
