Wildcats poised to have success at conference meet

The BIG EAST Championships get underway on Saturday morning at the New York Armory.

VILLANOVA, Pa.--The official heat sheets for this weekend's BIG EAST Championships were released on Thursday night and Villanova will open competition in the conference meet on Saturday morning at the New York Armory, where the two-day BIG EAST Championships will be held. Entries in 14 different events (10 running events, three field events, one multi-event) have the Wildcats poised to enjoy a successful meet during the weekend.

The action gets underway from the Armory on Saturday morning.

All of the running events except for the longer distance events (3000 meters, 5000 meters) will have preliminaries contested, with the finals to follow on Sunday afternoon. In addition, teams will go head to head in the 4x400 meter relay, the 4x800 meter relay and the distance medley relay.

There are several ways to follow live coverage of the conference championships this weekend. For the second straight year the BIG EAST will stream video of the event on its website free of charge. The BIG EAST Championship Central page will also have live results. Fans can also find updates on the Villanova Track & Field Twitter page (@NovaTrackXC). The links at the top of this release will direct you to the various ways of following the meet.

A full recap of each day of action at the BIG EAST Championships will be posted on Saturday night and Sunday night once each day's competition has concluded.
