VILLANOVA, Pa. - After much success at The Armory, the women's track and field squad will return for the New Balance Collegiate Invitational on Friday and Saturday and look to add more conference qualifiers in the final weekend before the BIG EAST Championships.
Junior Sheila Reid and sophomore Bogdana Mimic ran NCAA automatic qualifying times at The Armory last weekend in the 3,000m. Reid owns the NCAA's fastest time in the 3,000m while Mimic ranks third. Both have qualified to the conference championships in the 1,000m and 3,000m.
Five Wildcats have posted NCAA provisional marks leading into this meet. Two weekends ago sophomore Shericka Ward highlighted the Great Dane Classic by running a provisional time in the 60m hurdles. All have qualified to the BIG EAST championships.
