TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Senior Liz Haglund (Manchester, N.H.) finished in third place in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 10:18.26 and automatically qualified for the national championship race next month with her performance on Saturday at the NCAA East Regional, hosted by Florida State University at the Mike Long Track. Haglund earned six team points with her third-place showing.

Freshman Sarah Morrison (Chambersburg, Pa.) also raced in the steeplechase and came in 23rd with a time of 11:03.19.

In the 4x400 meter relay, the Villanova entry finished 14th out of 20 squads with a time of 3:43.23. The Wildcat quartet included freshman Jessona McDonald (Queens, N.Y.), senior Arusha McKenzie (Kingston, Jamaica), junior Jordan Sarruda (Washington Twp., N.J.) and sophomore Makalia Griffith (South Ozone Park, N.Y.).

The NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be held in Des Moines, Iowa from June 11-14.
