Women's Track Scores Six Wins at Widener Invitational
Faith Dismuke won the 400 meter hurdles at the Widener Invitational with the sixth-fastest time in the BIG EAST this season (1:00.94).

CHESTER, Pa.--Athletes in both the running events and the field events excelled for Villanova on Friday and Saturday as the team competed in the Widener Invitational at Leslie C. Quick, Jr. Stadium, where the Wildcats won six of the eight events the team entered. Four of the wins came in the field events and two more came in the sprints.

Freshman sprinter Faith Dismuke (Passaic, N.J.) ran the sixth fastest time in the BIG EAST this season in the 400 meter hurdles. She produced a time of 1:00.94 and finished first out of 18 entries in the race, while sophomore Mary Bohi (Shamong, N.J.) was the runner-up in 1:03.47.

The other win in the sprints for Villanova came from freshman Qualitra Brown (Suffolk, Va.), who won the 200 meters in 25.20. She also finished fourth in the 400 meters with a time of 48.44, while fellow first-year runner Dominique Campbell (Washington, D.C.) placed fifth in the 400 meters (59.35) and sixth in the 200 meters (26.43).

In the field events freshman Alexandra Wasik (Medina, Ohio) cleared a height of 3.87 meters in the pole vault to come in first out of 19 competitors. She registered her best mark of the outdoor season and also the third best of her career. She led a group of four Wildcats that took part in the pole vault. Freshman Kathleen McPhillips (Carlisle, Pa.) tied for second place (3.57m) while senior Melissa Meggiolaro (Whippany, N.J.) and junior Kim Logoyda (Randolph, N.J.) finished fourth (3.57m) and fifth (3.27m), respectively.



Freshmen Jamie Klein (Hawthorne, N.J.) and Alexi Stershic (Yardley, Pa.) each recorded season-best marks in the javelin, with Klein winning the event with a throw of 42.26 meters. Stershic placed sixth and had a mark of 32.15 meters.

In the jumps sophomores Samantha Yeats (Califon, N.J.) and Victoria Profit (Nissequogue, N.Y.) won the high jump (1.75m) and the triple jump (11.01m), respectively, while junior Alexandria Reo (Parsippany, N.J.) was the runner up in the long jump (5.48m).
