Women's DMR Squad Places Fourth at NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, ARK. - On Friday, March 13th, the Villanova women's distance medley relay team finished fourth in day one of the 2004 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships held at the University of Arkansas' Randal Tyson Indoor Track in Fayetteville, Ark.

The Wildcats' DMR squad of senior Rebecca Mitchell, freshman Tierra Fletcher, Ioana Parusheva and Marina Muncan combined to record a time of 11:10.25 - placing them fourth in the event behind Tennessee (11:06.07), Stanford (11:07.15) and UCLA (11:08.70).

Villanova is tied for 16th place with five points after day one of the 2004 NCAA Indoor Championships. UCLA and Florida lead in the women's standings after one day of competition with 29 points apiece.

For the Wildcat women on Saturday, Muncan will compete in the women's 3,000m run beginning at 7:25 p.m.
